You may have received a letter from Anytime Fitness stating that your membership agreements have been transferred there. This letter as it was written was not approved by Boxing Gym management!
The facts: Your membership agreements have stopped with our closing down, and that is the end of it. You are not obligated to transfer anywhere unless you choose. You will not be billed by us anymore. You will not be billed by any of the transfer option gyms unless you physically drive over to one of them and sign a brand new agreement with them.
The purpose of arranging possible transfer locations was to help, not to harm. Again, anyone with any paid-up term left with us will have those terms honored by any transfer location, and transfer locations will in most cases choose to honor the price you were paying with us (again, only if you choose to join them). Any transfer is strictly VOLUNTARY. We appologize for any confusion, but again we did not authorize this letter as it was written.
We regret to inform you that due to economic conditions The Boxing Gym St. Peters will be closing its doors for good toward the end of the month of February 2009. On behalf of the ownership here and the staff we want to thank you for all of your support over the last 2 years. You all have become like family to us and we will miss you. Unfortunately, we could not give any further advance warning than this. We needed to see how strong of a January '09 we could have before we rendered a decision to close or try to survive 2009. At this time, current ownership can no longer support cash flow deficits in the business.
Where do we go from here? We will do everything possible to help all of our members transition to other facilities so that your quest for fitness can continue uninterrupted.
Our current plan is to stop all billing after the 15th of February (no billing in March will take place). Classes will continue for 1-2 weeks after the 15th depending on what remains in our account to cover payroll. Class volume during that period will likely be reduced and we will publish the final schedule as soon as possible.
General Fitness Gym Members – Anyone interested in continuing a program with The Boxing Gym is welcome to transition your membership over to
TBG O'Fallon, TBG Wentzville, or
TBG Florissant. Your membership would be ended with St. Peters and restarted at the same rate at the other location of your choice. The exception would be
TBG Florissant...
TBG Florissant is offering a special rate of $12.95 per month for anyone transferring there. Those with Paid-in-full memberships will have them honored in full by the other participating TBG locations. Starting Wednesday February 18th we will publish in the gym itself a full list of possible alternatives, including other facilities in the area so that everyone knows their options. We will also publish our final day of operation at that time. In the interim, if you already know where you'd like to go, please email Jena at:
flygirl_jkm@yahoo.com with your name, number and intended location. We will also have a sign-up sheet at the front desk where you will be able to let us know where you plan to go so that we can assist.
Hail Mary Pass – If anyone in membership is interested in trying to create an investment group in order to continue this gym in this location or look at other options for continuation of our classes in another location, there are ways to make this profitable with tweaking and additional resources and time. Anyone with potential interest, email Mark Brickner with your name and phone number –
marktbrickner@gmail.com.
Once again, thank you all for your support and membership. We love you all and wish that we weren't delivering this news.
Sincerely,
Mark Brickner
The Boxing Gym, St. Peters
